Trying to Get Healthy

June 27, 2016 12:00 PM

We’re all trying to get healthy. For many of us, it’s a longer road than we ever imagined and a lot of it seems to be uphill. And, here’s the most puzzling part of it – how will we know when we get there? And, when can we stop trying to get healthy? Is there any such thing as “healthy enough”?

The answer may lie in seeing “healthy” as a lifestyle or way of being and not a checklist of grocery items, weights lifted, or miles walked. It’s a series of choices made every day that help your body ward off disease, heal chronic ills, and live longer. It’s a long-term commitment that gets easier to keep with each healthy choice you make.

At Hackensack University Medical Group, we have skilled, experienced primary care providers and specialists who “get it”. They know what it takes to get healthier because they are doing it themselves. They practice what they preach. Remember, healthy is not a destination, it’s a journey.
