Men, Where Are You?

NEWSFLASH: Avoiding regular checkups doesn’t prevent disease; it only allows poor health to sneak upon you.

A recent article on the website of the Agency for Health Care Research & Quality (a government agency) states that men are 24% less likely than women to have visited a doctor in the past year. Almost all medical problems are most easily and effectively treated when caught early. Colorectal cancer, heart disease, and diabetes can have major complications and poor outcomes when left undetected.

Waiting for symptoms to appear doesn’t work either. Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a perfect example of a problem with hardly any signs or symptoms but terrible consequences when not treated. When symptoms of Type 2 diabetes appear such as nerve problems in the feet, significant damage has already been done.

Men, it’s time to pick up that phone and make an appointment with a primary care physician. Locate one of our skilled, compassionate healthcare providers near you by calling: 855.385.HEAL (4325).
